From organizing information into subheadings and writing complete paragraphs to creating glossary definitions, building an index and adding diagrams, illustrations or photographs, #students brought their topics to life! 📝🎨
They even exchanged feedback with their peers before creating their final projects. What a great way to strengthen reading and writing skills while sharing their knowledge with others! 👏📖

Mr. Shavers had a tough goal to meet last year. His 7th graders from 2024-2025 were 100% proficient on the science TCAP test. It's hard to go up from there, so he told those same kids who were in last year's 8th grade science class that he would make them a steak dinner 🥩 if they were all proficient in science a second year in a row.
Guess what! They all did it!
Unfortunately, some classmates who also need to be celebrated could not join us on Friday night, when Mr. Shavers and Mrs. Burk met up with this group of freshmen to tailgate before the Shelbyville Central ballgame.🏈 (Feel free to add your pic and/or name in the comments if you weren't present but want to be recognized. We want to acknowledge all hard workers from that class!)
We are so proud of all of you--although not a bit surprised--that you all pushed yourselves to achieve! And we know you'll keep being great in high school, college, the workplace, and beyond!
