All About Mrs. Crunk
Hello! Welcome to Music at Thomas Magnet School! I am very excited to have you in my class this year! We are going to explore music in many different ways throughout the year! Music is one of my passions and I cannot wait to share it with you!
Just so you know a little bit about me, here are a few facts!
I am the mother of two children, a wife, and a dedicated music educator. I attended the Lois Cowles Harrison Center for the Visual and Performing Arts High School as a voice student and received a Bachelor of Music Education from Lee University in Tennessee.
This is my 16th year of teaching and my 14th year in Bedford County. I started my teaching career in Rutherford County before moving to Bedford County. Music is something that I think all children should experience! It brings a well-rounded and balanced child! It's great to be a Thomas Tiger!!
In addition to teaching a general music curriculum for grades K-5. I also assist in teaching the 5th-8th grade band. I am the musical director for the musicals we perform here at Thomas as well. I am a passionate advocate for choral music and its influence and inspiration to young children. I was the recipient of the “Disney Musical in our Schools” a partnership with The Tennessee Performing Arts Center and Disney. I was also chosen by Bedford County to receive the One to One Connected Classroom where I incorporate technology into my curriculum. Beyond my work in the classroom, I served for two years on the council of the Tennessee Music Educators as the "Music In Our Schools Month" Chair. In the past, I have also helped lead an Honor Choir with my fellow Bedford County Music Educators for over 150 children within the Bedford County Schools. Last year, I was honored to be named Thomas Magnet's middle school "Teacher of the Year"!
I love being a mom, singing, gardening, decorating, and enjoying time with my family! I love spending time with my church family and being a follower of Christ is very important to me!
